The Hempfield Area School District board on Feb. 23 approved Resolution #315 requesting a Public School Facility Improvement Grant, not to exceed $5,000,000, from the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support an HVAC project. The motion carried unanimously.
At the same meeting the board approved the district’s Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) and the audited financial statements and Single Audit Report for the 2024–25 fiscal year, accepted a $5,200 donation from Matt’s Maker Space, Inc., and approved other routine finance items including monthly financial reports and authorization for counsel to settle a real estate tax assessment appeal on behalf of the district.
The MD&A and audited financial statements will be included in the district’s audited financials for 2024–25, as noted in the agenda. The board also approved accepting a $1,592 bid from the Westmoreland County Tax Claim Bureau for purchase of a property listed in the Unsold Property Repository and authorized further action as described in the meeting materials.
