Three bids were opened: John Anderson Construction ($299,992.00), St. Marys Masonry ($122,620.00) and Steger Masonry ($102,197.00). Commissioner Matthew G. Quesenberry moved to select Steger Masonry; Commissioner M. Fritz Leeker seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board also opened six bids for the Elk County Jail façade and window restoration project, with amounts ranging from $60,096.50 to $203,488.00. ARS Engineering representative Ryan Miller requested additional time to review the submissions; Commissioner M. Fritz Leeker moved to table consideration until the next meeting, Commissioner Gregory J. Gebauer seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
County officials ratified a five-year renewal with Neumo for the County Fusion records software. The contract was approved at $9,156.53 for the first year, with a 7% increase in each subsequent year. The approval was moved by Commissioner Matthew G. Quesenberry, seconded by Commissioner Gregory J. Gebauer and carried unanimously.
The board approved a request from Children & Youth Services to place a banner on the courthouse lawn recognizing National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Nancy Baker, director of Children & Youth Services, also presented a proclamation marking April as Child Abuse Prevention Month; the board passed the banner request on a motion by Gregory J. Gebauer and second by Matthew G. Quesenberry.
Presentations and recognitions included a retirement citation honoring Helen Marzella for 33 years of service to Children & Youth Services; a proclamation recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month presented by Denise Michalowski and Sherrie Falck of CAPSEA; and proclamations for National Library Week presented to local librarians Leslie Swope, Jessica Wonderly, Melinda Lewis and Barb DePonceau. County representatives also noted the Elk County Military Share Food Distribution program and congratulated Children & Youth Services for achieving a 100% compliance rating on the Title IV-E compliance review from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
