A representative of the Forest Park School District PTO used the Nov. 10 public-comment period to introduce the PTO’s mission and request volunteer support.
The PTO representative said the organization connects families, staff and schools across District 91, coordinates school- and district-level events, holds monthly open meetings and charges no membership fee. The speaker said PTO volunteers help with events, fundraisers and appreciation efforts and that sign-ups are shared via the PTO’s Facebook page and newsletters.
The PTO asked the village and residents for help staffing concessions at Forest Park Middle School boys’ basketball home games (games typically start at 4 p.m. and end about 6:15 p.m.) and offered to provide training and supplies. The representative also promoted a dine-and-donate at Culver’s on Roosevelt on Monday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m., stating that 10% of orders that mention the D91 PTO will be donated to the group. Contact information given in the comment was pto@fpsd91.org for volunteers and questions.
Why it matters: The PTO’s request seeks volunteers and small fundraising opportunities that support school programs and student activities; the council received the comment during public comment with no formal council action recorded.
No further action was taken at the meeting; the speaker encouraged residents to search “Forest Park 91 PTO” on Facebook for more information.
