Forest Park council adopts ordinance regulating ice-cream vending vehicles

Rachel, a village staff member who helped draft the ordinance, said the working draft had considered “between 3 and 5” vendors and that staff recommended starting with four.
To address safety concerns, the council approved an amendment that revised the ordinance’s hours to prohibit vending before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m. or sunset on any given day, whichever is earlier. The amendment, moved by Commissioner Vogt and seconded by another commissioner, passed unanimously. After that vote the council approved the main ordinance. The clerk recorded unanimous ayes from Commissioner Maxim, Commissioner Nero, Commissioner Melon Rogovin, Commissioner Vogt and Mayor Hoskins; the ordinance was entered as Ordinance 48-25.
