Wayne County approves local match commitment for $30,000 FEMA mitigation grant application

Wayne County adopted Resolution 25-29 at the June 24 meeting to pursue Hazard Mitigation Assistance funding through the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEMD) and FEMA. The resolution states the total project cost is $30,000 and recognizes the federal share will not exceed 75%, the state share not more than 10%, and the local share must be at least 15% of total project cost. Board members approved a commitment to provide up to $4,500 in local monies as the minimum match. Todd Wilson moved to approve Resolution 25-29; Lance Lange seconded; the measure passed unanimously.
