Doctor Burns briefed the board on several administrative and operational items to be added or followed up on at the next posted meeting. On e-bikes, staff said an advertisement has been issued and asked for input on training and implementation timing; staff will consult principals and return with a timeline and certified training recommendations in January. "I'll bring that back to y'all in January, and I'd say probably February, we can say, send it home to parents and say, here's the rules from now on," a board member said.
Staff asked the board whether the consultant who prepared the district's impact-fee study could present at the January workshop so members can review recommended fee increases and underlying factors. "They can come in January," staff said.
Staff also asked board members to consider adding a contract with Baptist Health Systems to restore CNA clinical placements in January and to add a proportionate-share mitigation agreement for Blackheath Park (30 units on Black Rock Road) to the Thursday agenda because the next board meeting will not be until January.
Staff reminded the board that a short leasing-corporation meeting must follow the regular meeting to appoint officers for a leasing corporation that supports bonding for school construction projects. Staff also asked the board to reconsider a previously approved senior payroll specialist job description to revisit a proposed $1,200 salary increase given the position’s responsibility for payroll for 1,800 employees.
Next steps: staff will bring more specific e-bike guidelines after principal input, schedule the impact-fee presentation for January, and place the Baptist Health CNA contract, Blackheath Park mitigation agreement and leasing-corp officer item on the upcoming agenda for the board’s consideration.
