Burr Ridge staff preview final FY2027 budget; board to act April 13

Evan, a village staff presenter, told the Burr Ridge trustees on March 23 that the draft FY2027 budget shows a two-year net increase in the village's net position of roughly $376,000. "So that is in the right direction," Evan said, adding later, "there is 376,000 ish dollars more in the budget than we anticipated in terms of overall value." The increase reflects sales-tax revenue that exceeded projections (December collections were about $200,000 above estimate) and modest reductions in personnel expense tied to timing of hires.

Evan said the revised full budget is posted online and emphasized that the March 23 meeting was the board's last opportunity to give staff direction before the April 13 budget hearing. Because of the length of the ordinance, staff warned that the board cannot accept changes at the April 13 meeting itself; trustees must finalize direction beforehand.

Staff noted two officer hires requested by the police chief remain in the budget; no programmatic reductions were proposed. Trustees had no substantive objections at the March 23 review and deferred formal adoption to the April meeting.
