Melinda Long accepted the board’s resolution and said, "I just enjoyed my 20 years here with the county… I love Person County and people in Person County, and I'm going to miss it." Nancy McCormick presented the Stewardship Week proclamation, describing local programming tied to soil health, school activities and museum exhibits as part of the America250 commemoration.
The proclamations were approved by voice vote and several representatives from Duke Energy and Piedmont Electric joined for a photo opportunity following the Lineworker Appreciation proclamation.
