The Village of Jackson held its organizational meeting Tuesday, April 21, where the board administered oaths to three newly elected trustees and completed its annual reorganization.
Pam administered the oath of office to Tracy Wells, John Schlantz and Don Olsen. The Village President, Engberg, congratulated the returning trustees and welcomed Schlantz to the board. After the swearing-in the board moved through committee and commission appointments recommended by the Village President and Board of Public Works.
Trustee Don Olsen and Trustee Tracy Wells were appointed to the Budget and Finance Committee for one-year terms expiring in April 2027. The board named Trustee Brian Emmerich and Trustee Debbie Kurtz to the Personnel Committee (one-year terms). The Village President appointed themself as chair of the Board of Public Works and the board approved trustees John Schlantz and Tim Engelhardt as Board of Public Works members for 2026–27; citizen member Stephanie Egnor was appointed to a three‑year term through April 2029. Trustee Emmerich and Trustee Tim Engelhardt were appointed to the Plan Commission for one-year terms. Barry Boleen was appointed to the Police & Fire Commission for a five‑year term expiring in April 2031.
Other citizen appointments confirmed by the board included Brittany Rasky and Brian Mecha to Parks & Recreation terms through 2029; Larry Hamlin and Bernadette Buzer to the Tourism Commission for 2027 terms; John Kripke to the Residents Board through 2031; Trustee Debbie Kurtz to the Community Development Authority for a 2027 term and Doug Aufke to a three‑year CDA seat through 2029; and Christie Stem, Jackie Bridal and Jack Lippold to the Ethics Committee through 2028. The board also named Barry Boleen and Dave Schleif to the Zoning Board of Appeals for terms expiring in 2029.
The board completed reorganization business and asked the newly appointed and sworn officials to sign ceremonial and official copies of the oath documents. The session then moved to the evening’s regular agenda.
