Wales P&Z approves resident's 10'x16-foot shed permit pending setback verification; zone-change application incomplete

The Wales Town Planning and Zoning Committee approved a resident's application for a 10-by-16-foot prefabricated shed at 140 East 100 South on March 17, voting to condition the permit on verification of required setbacks before the structure is delivered.

Committee Secretary Lee Fox read the meeting minutes and recorded that Brian Smith had appeared to seek approval of the prefabricated shed but had not provided setback measurements for the placement. Lee Fox agreed to meet Smith at the property to measure and record setbacks prior to the shed's delivery.

Committee member Austin Shepherd moved to approve the application contingent on that verification; Ron Garff seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by the members present. The minutes list the committee members present as Austin Shepherd, Dee Bowers, Reid Hall, Ron Garff and Committee Secretary Lee Fox.

On other business, the committee noted that an Edmunds zone-change request remains incomplete: the committee had not received a completed application form or the required filing fee and had received no further communication from the applicant, so no formal action was taken on that matter.

The committee approved the minutes from its Feb. 17, 2026 meeting after a motion from Dee Bowers, seconded by Ron Garff, and adjourned at 7:25 p.m. Reid Hall made the motion to adjourn; Ron Garff seconded and the vote was unanimous.
