Public Works Director Paul Roten presented a request on March 17 to add a permanent County Surveyor position and appoint Sean Robison to the role. Roten and staff described Robison’s eight years of county experience (working with assessors and GIS), his recent passage of the land surveyor exam, and the expected cost savings from reducing consultant survey contracts. The board highlighted Robison’s historical knowledge and local project work and supported bringing surveying duties in‑house to assist with housing, public works and land research needs.
