Beaufort County roundup: BCTV highlights RBC Heritage, local barbers, School Library Week and animal control appreciation

Beaufort County TV’s news segment previewed full BCTV coverage of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament and ran a local-feature interview with Barbers of the Low Country.

In the on-site feature, Brent Nelson of Barbers of the Low Country described the shaving service and shop atmosphere: "The shaves that we do, we use a straight razor, and it's really about the preparation for the shave that provides a nice experience," Nelson said, emphasizing customer service and a relaxed environment. Reporter Matt Golden asked about the customer experience; Nelson noted the shops aim to make haircuts and shaves enjoyable rather than a chore.

Nelson also listed shop hours and locations: Bluffton — 8 a.m.–7 p.m., seven days; Beaufort — 8 a.m.–7 p.m., six days; Pooler — 9 a.m.–5 p.m., five days.

The broadcast also marked School Library Week in the Beaufort County School District. One school librarian said, "The library is the hub of the school. It's a place where everyone can come, students, staff, teachers," and described libraries as supporting curriculum and bringing the joy of reading to students. Another librarian noted the thrill of watching a child's face light up when they find a book they want to read. A separate speaker characterized storytelling and library work as a lifelong calling.

On the county-service front, the program noted last week was Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week. A commentator praised animal control officers as "unsung heroes" who are busy responding to calls and often reluctant to be on camera.
