Summary
Council approved an ordinance amending parklet rules, advanced several other code changes on second or first reading, and directed staff to return with a proposal on permitting a Snake River Brewing sponsorship for a Center for the Arts benefit concert.
Jackson, Wyo. — On April 20 the Jackson town council moved several ordinances forward and directed staff to scope a possible liquor-sponsorship arrangement for the Center for the Arts’ benefit concert.
Council read short titles and approved an ordinance amending Chapter 12 (parklets) on third reading; other ordinances amending Title 5 (business licenses and solicitation), Title 9 (injury or destruction of public property), and Title 13 (utility rates and wastewater capacity and permitting) were advanced as shown on the agenda. Town Attorney Leah Colasano answered a procedural question about how councilors may vote on ordinances they previously opposed but that were moved forward by the majority.
Marty Camino, executive director of the Center for the Arts, asked council to consider approving a sponsorship from Snake River Brewing for the nonprofit’s public benefit concert. Councilors asked whether staff could scope the request and return with a report; Camino said the brewery is prepared to consider a multiyear commitment. Council moved to have staff prepare a report and bring the item back for council consideration at the next available meeting.
