Staff briefed the Audit Committee on several administrative items on April 23, reporting no findings on the external SPLAS (referred to in materials as E SPLAS) project expenditures audit for the year ended June 30, 2025, and announcing a new board documents system.
A staff member described Diligent as the district’s new board agenda and document platform, noting mobile access, lower paper use and an offer to walk through the system for committee members who need help. On the SPLAS expenditures audit, staff said the external review required by Georgia law found no issues and answered committee questions about the external engagement; the committee voted to accept that audit.
Staff also reported that there are currently no overdue items in the management action report, previewed items due for the June meeting, and described planned changes to the internal audit monitoring report, including combining management action items and adding a continuing professional education (CPE) tracker. Staff clarified that yellow book auditors must complete 80 hours of CPE every two years.
The Chair reminded the committee it would not meet in May because of graduation, congratulated Claire Woods, a Savannah Arts senior, and adjourned the meeting.
