Planning commission recommends approval of three vacation-rental permits
Loading...
Summary
The commission recommended conditional-use approvals for vacation rentals at 1750 S State St (Marlene Cohen), 390 W Prickley Pear Circle (Sean Riley) and 1045 S Pinion Pine Drive (Sam Cubas); UDOT confirmed approved access will not change for the Cohen property.
The Oroville Planning and Zoning Commission on March 25 recommended approval of three conditional-use permits allowing homes to continue operating as vacation rentals.
The first permit considered was for Marlene Cohen at 1750 South State Street in Orderville. The chair read that UDOT informed staff the property’s approved access point would not be affected by using the home as a vacation rental: "UDOT has told her that since she already has, an approved access point, that using this as a vacation rental does not change that." A motion to recommend approval carried.
The commission then considered a conditional-use permit for Sean Riley at 390 West Prickley Pear Circle; commissioners said this was primarily an ownership change and the property was already operating as a vacation rental. The commission recommended approval.
Finally, members recommended approval for Sam Cubas at 1045 South Pinion Pine Drive to continue using the dwelling as a vacation rental. One commissioner said they would abstain because of prior involvement managing the property; after the motion and second the chair announced the motion carries.
All three recommendations will be forwarded to town council as advisory recommendations from the planning commission.
