Council OKs development agreement for LCRA Georgetown substation upgrades
City council approved a development agreement with LCRA to rebuild and expand an existing Georgetown substation, including a temporary modular substation, masonry screening walls and measures to limit tree and landscaping impacts.

Jack Daly, chief business officer for Georgetown’s electric utility, presented terms of a development agreement with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) for improvements to the LCRA TSC Georgetown substation. Daly said the project will include a temporary modular substation during reconstruction, gas‑insulated transformers to increase capacity, and efforts to avoid disturbing trees when possible.
