Edgar, a planning department staff member, proposed shortening slide decks and staff reports for rezoning and special use permit cases so council and the public can grasp key facts quickly. "An aerial map on one side, 3 or 4 good bullet points on the other," Edgar said, arguing that large blocks of text and tiny fonts undercut the value of an in-person presentation.
