Advance Addison comprehensive plan scheduled for council work session on Jan. 27, tentative adoption Feb. 10

Leslie Knapp, director of development and neighborhood services, told the Planning & Zoning Commission the Advance Addison comprehensive plan is moving to the next step in the review process.

"It is now slated to go to another work session discussion next week on January 27, and tentative adoption is February 10, regular meeting," Knapp said.

Why it matters: The comprehensive plan sets the town's long-term policy framework for growth, land use and transportation. P&Z recommended approval of the draft plan at its October 2025 meeting; council review and adoption would finalize the townwide policy changes.

Knapp said staff and council have already discussed several iterations of the plan and that the document remains subject to council action. She told commissioners that she does not currently expect it to be returned to P&Z for further revisions but acknowledged final action rests with the council.

Commissioners raised timing questions and noted the plan's connection to the market and demographic snapshot staff expects to produce every two years. Knapp said staff aimed to pair a market report with the comprehensive plan but timing and budget constraints may delay a fuller market update until 2027.

What's next: The plan will be presented at a council work session Jan. 27 and is tentatively scheduled for adoption at the council's Feb. 10 regular meeting. If council requests changes, the plan could return to P&Z for additional review.
