Montgomery County’s Council closed out its 2024 calendar with several legislative actions: a five-year reauthorization of the county’s minority-, female- and disabled-owned business purchasing program; a successful veto override to reenact amendments to development impact taxes; and the introduction of an expedited bill to create a specialized parking permit for unhoused service providers and childcare workers in downtown Silver Spring.
