CCRPC staff and basin representatives provided status reports on projects and planning activity across Basins 5, 7 and 8.
Dan Albrecht reported Basin 5 work including construction at the UVM Horticulture Farm, Georgia Falls Road moving to construction bidding (bids came in higher than expected but the project is proceeding), and a St. Albans culvert where the town is paying most of the cost. He said some Basin 5 projects remain in design and are slated for construction in 2024.
Dean Pierce summarized Basin 7 discussions from the Sept. 26 meeting: no project applications at that meeting, a focus on operations and maintenance language in landowner agreements, potential landowner trainings, and a proposed relaxation of procurement language that DEC is considering.
Lincoln Frasca provided a Basin 8 update via email (relayed by staff): CVRPC is assisting Berlin and Waitsfield with buffer plantings, culvert replacements and berm removal/floodplain restoration; CVRPC also plans to support the Winooski Valley Parks District with a BWQC project development application and has submitted a final design application for a Calais gully stabilization project. CCRPC noted a Basin 8 subgrant to assist Huntington with project development tied to the Huntington River Corridor Plan.
No additional staff, member or guest updates were offered during this agenda item.
