Scott explained state law requires timely board approval for multi-year administrator contracts and asked the board to authorize a three-year renewal before an August 1 statutory deadline. Corporation Counsel Jim Dyer described the negotiation as straightforward and said the only substantive change was updating dates; Scott requested her September 1 salary increase be deferred and agreed to be eligible for a salary increase on Jan. 1, 2021 tied to the average base increases for other non-union employees. The board approved the contract by roll call (Res.111-2020).
Chair Steve Frisbie praised Scott’s work and described the contract as a good arrangement during “unprecedented times.”
