Erie County to evaluate a joint EMS district after requests from Vermilion officials

At the April 15 meeting, Commissioner Old told the Board he had received an email from the Mayor of Vermilion and that the Commissioners had received a letter from the Vermilion Township Trustees asking the county to explore forming a joint EMS district. Commissioner Old said the County is not seeking to take over fire or EMS services, but that if local entities request the county’s involvement, the county is willing to begin an evaluation process.
