The Smyth County Planning Commission on May 22 unanimously approved a resolution finding the Laurel Creek Energy Storage battery facility and its associated transmission lines consistent with the county comprehensive plan and Virginia Code §15.2-2232. Rex Young of Laurel Creek Energy Storage presented an update on the facility located on Tax Map Nos. 18-1-34 and 18-1-98.
