Meeting materials and the board’s discussion said the proposal would affect about 125 Illinois municipalities and regional water agencies. The Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA) has written to the Illinois Municipal League opposing the fee, according to the packet the board reviewed.
Mayor Dominic Marturano presided; no public commenters spoke on the item. The resolution contains the village’s formal opposition but does not itself change local water allocations or village policy beyond expressing that position. The board did not direct staff to pursue litigation or specific follow‑up steps during the meeting.
