Christina Staten Brinkman, Burleson’s communications and marketing manager, previewed a website refresh on March 12 that staff said will roll out in spring under the city’s contract with CivicPlus.
Brinkman said the refresh is a scheduled update under the provider contract and is not a full rebrand; it aims to make the site more mobile friendly, modernize visuals and surface the top 20 visited pages as quick links on the home page. Staff cited analytics showing a shift from roughly 50% mobile visitors in 2020 to more than 70% in 2024 and described improvements such as hover effects, a cleaner button system, a toggle between news and events, and a modernized calendar view.
Brinkman said departments will submit high-resolution photos and logos and that department-specific header branding (for example, Burleson PD and the city’s Brick venue) will remain. Next steps include continued testing with CivicPlus for accessibility and mobile optimization and a communications plan using social media, e-newsletters and the weekly report to announce the launch.
Council asked whether the list of top quick links could be updated between refresh cycles; staff said internal adjustments can be made at any time and said the website committee will continue monitoring analytics quarterly.
