Summary
Gold Bar Elementary reported gains on benchmarks and MTSS implementation; the district previewed 'Sultan Summit Academy,' an umbrella for parent partnership, ALE and online options and said K–8 parent‑partnership registration is open with tentative initial enrollment targets.
Gold Bar Elementary Principal Heather Anderson presented the school’s third‑quarter progress report and previewed a district alternative‑learning umbrella program the district is calling Sultan Summit Academy.
Anderson said staff work this year focused on clarifying MTSS supports and standards‑based instruction. “A 100% of our certificated staff are now able to clearly identify what those 3 tiers of support are,” she told the board, and reported that 86% of students showed growth on district benchmark assessments during the winter diagnostic window. Anderson outlined scheduling and paraeducator assignments intended to support small‑group interventions and said the school will continue to build family engagement and response rates on climate surveys.
On programming, Anderson described Sultan Summit Academy as combining the Parent Partnership Program (K–8), Alternative Learning Experiences and online options for grades 9–12. She said the parent partnership option will be supported by a certificated teacher, include on‑site and remote options, and provide materials through a district loan library. Anderson estimated a conservative initial K–8 target of 20–30 students to start the program and said the district will hold an informational Q&A session for families.
The board thanked Anderson for the data presentation and asked follow‑up questions about projected enrollment and staffing break‑even points.
