Commission concurs with Section 106 finding for Veterans Home remodel
The commission voted to concur with a federal Section 106 review finding that the proposed Southern Nevada State Veterans Home remodel and 42,000 sq ft addition will not affect historic properties; the project reduces bed count while increasing room size and will be phased to keep residents on site.

Chairman Davenport said the commission would consider the Section 106 review for the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home remodel and addition. Staff explained the Section 106 process under the National Historic Preservation Act and presented an environmental sensitivity analysis submitted to SHPO.
