Commission discusses public-restroom survey and interim signage to guide visitors

During old business, a commissioner (S3) updated the Planning Commission on a public-restroom survey. S3 said a draft report was lost after a computer crash but that the original source data remain and will be reorganized into a readable report for commissioners.
Commissioners discussed interim wooden beach signs appearing on Ocean Shores Boulevard and asked staff to identify who installed them so the city can use a consistent signage pattern to direct visitors to existing public restrooms. The presenting commissioner recalled an initial count of about 17 to 22 businesses that permit public restroom access and said the commission will revisit the item when the report is available.
The commission took no formal action and moved the item to the next meeting for a full report and continued discussion of permanent signage or additional restroom facilities.
