Lewis County commissioners on April 28 approved amendments to two consolidated homeless-grant contracts that together add about $1.09 million for housing and essential needs services.
Mija Hamlin, director of Public Health and Social Services, asked the board to approve resolution 26-140, an amendment to the Hope Alliance contract that would run through June 30, 2027 and add $160,000, bringing total consideration to $405,122 to provide services to people experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. "This is an amendment to their original contract... it would run 07/01/2020 '5 through 06/30/2027, and it adds, the amount of a $160,000 for a total consideration of $405,122 to provide services to those experiencing domestic violence, and and or homelessness," Hamlin said.
Later, Major Hanlon described resolution 26-141, an amendment between Coastal Community Action Program and Lewis County Public Health and Social Services that would extend the contract through June 30, 2027 and add $929,000 for a total maximum consideration of $1,798,323.60. Hanlon said the funds support housing, rapid rehousing, homeless prevention and related essential-needs services funded through the consolidated homeless grant.
Both amendments were included in the board's deliberation items and approved by voice vote; the chair recorded the motion as carried 3-0.
