Court approves Jury Queue vendor (payment function deferred) after staff caution

District-clerk staff said Jury Queue's all-in service costs about $13,500 a year and includes an iPad and digital check-in tools; staff reported a successful three-month trial that smoothed grand jury and summons processes. "We were live with the jury queue. We've been with them for 3 months," the presenter reported.
Sandra noted the company offers a method of paying jurors but advised the court to allow more time before adopting that payment function. "I would like a little bit longer history with the company and, let them have a little bit more time to build out their jury payment, before we engage with them on that service," she said.
The court discussed current juror-payment practices (cash on hand), the vendor’s experience in larger counties, and the operational efficiencies seen during the trial period. Commissioner Windham moved to accept the jury-queue services; Commissioner Farmer seconded and the court approved the service contract, while deferring juror-payment implementation pending further vetting.
