Committee adopts parks CIP items, including correction to amendment 25‑54

A Montgomery County committee on facilities planning adopted the council staff recommendation on the FY25–30 Parks Capital Improvements Program and approved a separate, technical amendment to correct an attribution in the packet.

Council staff said the County Executive’s recommended CIP included affordability bonds of 15,000 in FY 2029 and $9,000 in FY 2030, totaling $24,000, and that the Montgomery National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M‑NCPPC) did not propose other substantive changes to the parks CIP this year. Andy Frank, chief of the Park Development Division, told the committee there were no significant changes beyond an inflation-driven out‑year adjustment to bond allocations.

Committee members asked for no further changes and adopted the staff recommendation. Staff noted the package lists pending project closeouts and that a parks–transportation memorandum of understanding covering Parks Road work remains in progress and will be brought forward when completed.

The committee also reviewed amendment 25‑54, which staff described as perfunctory: it corrects an inaccurate PDF attribution in the packet. A separate staff report and resolution accompany that item. The committee indicated it would take up any outstanding language refinements at a subsequent meeting.
