Vernon County to study sanitarian staffing after consortium dissolves; board backs exploring a vehicle option
The board was told the Environmental Health Consortium will dissolve on Jan. 1, 2024, removing the consortium sanitarian from Vernon County; members asked staff to run a cost analysis and approved exploring lease vs. purchase of a vehicle to reduce mileage costs.

The Vernon County Health Department informed the Board of Health on May 9 that the Environmental Health Consortium shared with neighboring counties will dissolve effective Jan. 1, 2024. Health Officer Amy Kleiber said the current consortium sanitarian, Troy Moris, will no longer travel to Vernon County as a result.
