Risk Manager Christian Jocelyn (Speaker 8) presented a contract-renewal proposal for the Safety Plus training and incident-reporting platform and said the contract includes training, claims management and incident reporting functionality. Several commissioners questioned whether the platform had been used enough to justify renewal, asking for utilization metrics, onboarding practices and whether the county's needs could be met by alternative tools.
One commissioner (Speaker 3) said the platform had not been implemented to the extent expected and asked for comparative data and alternatives. Jocelyn acknowledged limited uptake and explained some departments uploaded safety plans but that claims management and incident reporting had not yet transitioned from the old Google-based system. The board voted to direct risk management to bring back a utilization report and recommended options to meet county needs within three weeks.
What happens next: risk management will collect usage statistics, consult department heads as needed, evaluate alternatives, and return with a recommendation and implementation plan.
