Bradley Davis, planning and zoning consultant, updated the council May 3 on the town’s Comprehensive Land Use Development Plan and the steps needed to meet new state requirements under Chapter 160D.
Davis said the planning team — including local staff, graduate students and volunteers — prepared a trends report, held outreach (about 180 respondents to a priorities survey), drafted goals, implementation actions and a Future Land Use Map, and completed a full draft plan. "We are recommending that the Council hold the required public hearing on the draft plan at their meeting on Tuesday, June 7 at 7 pm," Davis said, noting the action would allow the town to meet the state requirements of Chapter 160D.
The Planning Board is scheduled to review the draft at its May 18 meeting and may make a recommendation to the council afterward. The council did not take final action on the plan on May 3; the next steps are review by the Planning Board and a council public hearing in June.
