Fayette County commissioners approve budget transfers, contract with Maximus and routine bills

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 1 approved payment of the bills presented, a series of budget adjustments and interfund transfers, and a three-year contract with Maximus Consulting Services to prepare cost-allocation plans.
Commissioner James D. Garland moved to pay the bills and Commissioner Donald L. Fleak seconded; the board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote of aye from Commissioner Tony Anderson, Commissioner James D. Garland and Commissioner Donald L. Fleak. The minutes list line-item claims covering courthouse and jail utilities and repairs, water and sewer operations, laboratory services, equipment purchases and other county expenses.
The board also approved a set of appropriation modifications shifting funds among travel, workers' compensation, salaries, PERS, and information technology accounts, and authorized several transfers: $6,692.97 from Water District Revenue to Lakewood Hills Debt Service; $72,318.67 from the Rattlesnake sanitary sewer revenue fund to OWDA WWTP Missouri Ditch Debt Service; and $11,110.89 to Good Hope Sewer Debt Service. Commissioners approved additional appropriations including $67,731.36 for courthouse and jail contract repair and $30,835.73 for information technology contract services. Each action was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous roll call.
The board accepted Amended Official Certificate of Estimated Resources #10 from the Fayette County Budget Commission, a procedural step that updates the county’s revenue estimates for budgeting and authorization of appropriations.
Separately, the board authorized a three-year agreement with Maximus Consulting Services, Inc., to develop cost-allocation plans based on the county’s year-end financial data for 2025–2027. The contract is $10,500 per year (total $31,500) and will be used to document and claim indirect cost recoveries for calendar years 2026–2028. Commissioner Donald L. Fleak moved to enter the agreement; Commissioner James D. Garland seconded and the motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The meeting record shows all actions adopted by the three commissioners by unanimous votes. The board adjourned with no further business and the minutes were signed by Tony Anderson, James D. Garland and Donald L. Fleak.
