County reports: active-shooter training praised; two staff resignations approved
County department heads reported on operations including successful active-shooter training and upcoming dust-control; the board approved two personnel resignations effective April and May and approved payroll reimbursements and appointment letters.

County department heads provided routine updates during the April 28 meeting. Maintenance Director Rodney Bliesener said work on the Sheriff's parking lot is progressing and thanked participants in last week's active-shooter training, which he said "went very well." Sheriff Kevin Glendening echoed that the trainings are meant to "learn and improve our safety," and confirmed the training was successful; he also reported that a storm siren failure was traced to a bad switch that staff are repairing.
