Aurora committee defers contested appointments and votes to schedule executive session
A motion to appoint multiple members to the Hispanic & Heritage Advisory Board failed for lack of a full five-member majority; the committee voted to schedule an executive session under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) to discuss volunteer appointments at a future meeting.

Deputy Chief of Staff Nicholas Richard Thompson presented the slate of nominees for the Hispanic and Heritage Advisory Board. Concerns about conflicts of interest led at least one member to recuse. During roll call, the vote on the appointments did not reach the full-majority threshold required by the committee: the tally showed two yes, one no and two abstentions, so the motion failed for lack of a majority of the five-member body.
