Council awards Raymond Road street improvements contract to local bidder

Senior engineer Ben Kor told the council that five bids were received after the project was rebid to remove ambiguous language. He said the lowest responsive bid was from Morris Brothers General Engineering Inc. and staff recommended awarding the contract with a 10% contingency to cover unforeseen conditions.
"Morris Brothers General Engineering Incorporated submitted the lowest bid of $443,268," the senior engineer said, and staff recommended awarding the contract and adopting a categorical exemption for the project.
Council approved the contract award by unanimous roll call. Staff noted funding comes from congestion‑mitigation, RSTP exchange and RMRA sources and said combining two funding schedules reduced costs.
