Fremont County Commissioners approved revisions to the county’s noxious-weed management priorities and procedures during the March 10 meeting, making the revisions effective immediately.
Britney Pierce, the Fremont County Weed Management Director, said the updates align county documents with current Colorado law and the state’s periodically updated targeted noxious-weed list. Pierce said the prior county document last underwent revision in 2020 and that the new text removes outdated cost references and clarifies procedures for working with landowners.
Commission discussion recognized the role of the county’s Noxious Weed Advisory Board in reviewing the changes. Commissioners moved and seconded the item and recorded unanimous approval by roll call.
Pierce said the county will post the revised document online after formal approval and continue offering technical assistance and cost-share programs to landowners when appropriate.
