Schwarz said she grew up ranching in southwest Nebraska and returned to Extension in January to serve both Scotts Bluff and Kimball/Banner offices; she summarized upcoming programming focused on drought and recent wildfires, virtual workshops on planting annual forages and livestock care, and pasture‑link assistance to help ranchers find grazing. McKenna Nolles described an embryology project for local elementary students and scheduled five visits to Banner County schools to work with fourth and first graders and attempt to hatch chicks with classroom partners.
Extension emphasized outreach and practical education during the current drought and wildfire recovery: virtual programming on dry‑lot feeding and alternate forage planting, continuing education, and potential robotics opportunities for youth. Commissioners thanked the Extension staff and asked to be notified of additional needs or opportunities for county support.
