Goose Creek CISD board approves DOI amendments, consent agenda and personnel actions at May meeting
Summary

Trustees approved a set of governance and routine items during the meeting, including proposed District of Innovation (DOI) amendments and a six-item consent agenda that included a donation, the 2026-27 compensation plan, an innovative course for newcomer students, a resolution related to school bus seatbelts (SB 546) for submission to TEA, proposed policy revisions (EIE local) and tax refunds.
Board members moved, seconded and the motions passed as presented. The chair noted the DOI amendments require a supermajority and a motion to approve passed; the chair's voice recorded the motion as carried. Administration also recommended approval of a slate of professional new hires and several named specialist hires; trustees voted to approve the personnel recommendations and a list of contract renewals and nonrenewals as presented.
The board recessed for closed session and reconvened without reporting any open-session action from the closed session.
