Court approves countywide cybersecurity awareness training and deadline for completion
Jim Wells County approved enrollment of employees in a cybersecurity awareness program presented by vendor CoreRecon, set an August 21 completion deadline and directed staff to submit completion reports to the Texas Department of Information Resources by August 31.

Robert Silva of the Jim Wells County IT department presented a countywide cybersecurity awareness training plan, saying the sessions (40–50 minutes each) will be delivered by vendor CoreRecon at the sheriff’s training center (2310 Old Keithville Road). Silva told commissioners the deadline for completion is August 21 so the county can produce a completion report for the Texas Department of Information Resources (Texas DIR) by August 31.
