Tipton staff seek sponsors for playground as board addresses cemetery upkeep and golf-cart trail concerns

Staff noted an older ordinance prohibits gas-powered motorized vehicles but that battery-powered carts create an enforcement challenge; members agreed to allow staff to post signs asking that golf carts not use trails but noted enforcement would be difficult without additional clarification or resources.
Staff reported pool preparation is underway and said the Land and Water Conservation Fund may allow the city to address multiple park items beyond paving and parking, because matching funds from a park district bond are already in place. For the baseball project, staff reiterated that the GMP does not include playground equipment; they said the city is pursuing sponsorships and local funders, including IU Health and the county foundation, to cover that cost.
A board member asked for volunteers to help water flowers and routine park tasks; one volunteer has already been found.
