Madison County Board approves routine resolutions, appointments and budget adjustments

The Madison County Board of Supervisors adopted a series of routine committee resolutions Tuesday, approving contract renewals, budget adjustments and several appointments while issuing a proclamation designating April 6–12, 2026 as National Public Health Week.
The board approved Government Operations Committee items including three policy amendments and a gender-based violence workplace policy from human resources. The Finance, Ways and Means Committee adopted resolutions addressing a white-collar contract, a technology/server purchase, a $20,000 purchase of replacement chairs and multiple budget modifications tied to recent closings of county facilities. Finance Chair Kyle Rieger said sales tax revenue was up 3.39% compared with the same period last year.
Among contracts and procurement actions the board authorized agreements or renewals with Constellation New Energy (a four-year fixed-rate program through MEGA) and Seal Coat USA for joint-and-crack repair materials, and approved an agreement with Barton and Ljudis for solid-waste engineering services. The criminal justice committee approved a $149,000 agreement with Greater Lennox Ammo Service to support county EMS activity.
The board also confirmed appointments including members to the Madison County Capital Resources Corporation and two appointees to the county IDA board; a resolution of appreciation recognized the retirement of Karen Bright after 31 years in child and family services.
Votes on multiple resolution blocks were recorded by roll call; several packet items passed by large margins (roll-call tallies cited 1,353 and 1,392 votes in favor on different measures). Several routine items were moved together under the preferred agenda and passed without extended debate.
The meeting closed with procedural votes including a waiver of rules 24/24A and a brief second public-comment period. The board scheduled its next regular meeting in April at Deli Falls.
