Palmer College land-use and rezoning measures advanced by Davenport council and placed on consent

No members of the public spoke against the measures during the hearings. After the brief comment, council members recommended that the items be moved on; Alderman Holloway set the council’s agenda and the items were placed on the consent calendar. The motion to set items 1 through 6 on consent carried.
The items include: a campus‑land‑use amendment (OD26‑01) for the area generally bounded by West 12th, Harrison, 6th and Persian avenues; a rezoning request for identified Palmer parcels to an institutional campus district; and two vacations of city right‑of‑way related to Palmer Drive and East 10th Street. The council did not take a separate roll‑call vote on each ordinance during the committee meeting; each was recommended to move forward on the council’s agenda and to the consent calendar for formal action.
Next steps: the ordinances and right‑of‑way vacation requests will appear on the council’s consent agenda for final action at a later council meeting unless removed for separate consideration.
