District to post school performance dashboard under state-required policy 2603

Matt Lawson told the board policy 2603 is a new state-required policy that "requires schools to publish performance data online. Uh it's fundamentally about transparency and public accountability." He said NEOLA drafted the list of required items to meet statutory requirements and recommended the board align the district's approach with that guidance.
Board members discussed the value of annual performance reporting to the community. One member said she had reviewed sample annual reports from other districts in a Zoom meeting and thought they provided clear, accessible data for the public, principals, and teachers; she offered to try to obtain those examples. Lawson said the district would begin the process and that the dashboard policy would be implemented to satisfy statutory posting obligations.
Lawson also reviewed related compliance-driven updates in the packet (staff-gift rules 3214/4214; electronic-signature authority 6105; budget-preparation language 6220 and internal controls; and information-security policy 8305). He characterized this cycle as primarily a targeted, compliance-driven update incorporating NEOLA recommendations and statutory changes. The board did not vote on the dashboard policy at the meeting and will consider it in a first reading scheduled after minor edits.
