He said ordinance 26‑02, the county’s digital zoning maps ordinance, completed a first reading at the Board of Commissioners on April 8 and is scheduled for a second hearing on April 22, when the board will take a vote to adopt or reject the ordinance.
Cook also reported that ordinance 26‑05, which establishes an administrative variance process for small deviations from the land‑use code, was taken to the Board of Commissioners last month and was approved and adopted. He said staff are beginning to use the new code language to allow administrative variances intended to help applicants meet standards for modest deviations.
The manager said staff continue to work on commercial and industrial zone audits and expect to present findings to the commission in June.
