Planning commission approves final plat for Lyn View Estates

The Detroit Lakes Planning Commission approved the final plat for Lyn View Estates, a proposed 10-lot residential subdivision at 865 Shorewood Drive, at its meeting on Tuesday.

Larry, a city staff member, said the commission had previously approved the preliminary plat and that staff recommended the final plat’s approval provided the owner obtain any required Pelican River Watershed District permit, a land disturbance permit, and any utility or drainage easements deemed necessary by the city engineer. “This is a 10 lot residential plat,” Larry said when presenting the item.

The commission had no public comments on the matter. A commissioner moved to approve the final plat with the staff recommendations, another commissioner seconded, and the motion carried.

The approval clears a step toward subdividing the property for residential development; the record shows Bristland Construction as the developer. The staff conditions must be satisfied before final recording and any future site work will need to comply with the city’s land-disturbance and permitting requirements.

The commission then moved on to other agenda items and adjourned after completing the evening’s business.
