The House Energy and Digital Infrastructure committee on May 12 set follow-up work on a data center bill and confirmed a planned vote tomorrow on a committee bill about Burlington Electric and town energy plans (bill 26078).
Chair Representative Kathleen James said a new 3.1 draft of the data center bill is available and the committee is waiting for input from the Environment Committee; staff will attempt a 1 p.m. walkthrough with Maria if scheduling permits. Members were asked to tentatively plan to return at 1 p.m. for that discussion.
The chair also reported that the committee bill on Burlington Electric and town energy plans is expected to come to a vote tomorrow "without any further changes" and asked members to examine the draft and alert staff to any problems before the vote. The bill was referenced by number as 26078.
No votes took place during the May 12 meeting on either the data center draft or bill 26078; the committee directed staff to prepare materials for the planned walkthrough and vote. The meeting then recessed with instructions about related walk-throughs and scheduling.
