Stormwater study: The council authorized a $33,510 preliminary engineering contract with HR Green to evaluate drainage options for a Crowing County drainage easement affecting properties near Corora Street. The contract passed on a roll call that recorded multiple yes votes; Councilmembers Jagger and "OD" were recorded as voting no.
Fire station renovation: The council approved a design services contract with Woods in the amount of $380,000 and selected Noron Construction as the general contractor for the planned 2026 fire station renovation. Staff said the firm had completed planning and preliminary design in 2025 and that the Gordian cost‑estimating option will be used.
Engineering consultant pool: Council authorized soliciting letters of interest and statements of qualifications to form a multi‑agency on‑call consultant pool across 15 categories with a $500,000 cap and two‑year term; staff said use of the pool would be optional in each procurement.
Signage and appointment: The council approved installing 24x24 "Proud FFA" community signs at three east‑end population sign locations and removing faded "Hearts Safe Community" signs; council also approved the appointment of Mary Cope to the TAC advisory committee.
Other items: Staff reported that MDOT has an apparent low bidder for Highway 210 reconstruction (RLEN Excavating) and that the city’s electric utility received a platinum RP3 designation from the American Public Power Association. Administrator Broyals reported on a pending PIT data submission from Crowing County to HUD/CoC and said staff will follow up.
